Re: Gerald Houllier RIP
Probably one of the only Liverpool managers I have ever liked.

Seemed a decent fella and a proper football man.

RIP.

I'm no fan of liverpool but the uefa cup final that he won against alaves was a great game

Re: Gerald Houllier RIP
One of the very few people associated with that despicable club who seemed like a genuinely decent human being.

Re: Gerald Houllier RIP
Didn't they used to call him Gerry and the Pacemaker due to his heart condition?

Regardless, as others have said, seemed like a decent bloke and along with Bill Shankly, are the only ones I had time for

RIP Gerard

Agree with Russ and Hermit.

Despite managing that fucking cunt club, he seemed a really decent bloke. Very sad.

Re: Gerald Houllier RIP
Seems well liked among his peers, interesting reading that he was a teacher in Liverpool 16 years before he was their manager.

Re: Gerard Houllier RIP
I remember a story doing the rounds when Houllier and Roy Evans were joint managers at Liverpool.

EVANS: "Hey Gerard, if we win today do you fancy going for a drink after the game?"

HOULLIER: "Hon hon hon, du vin?"

EVANS: "No, we'll take the bus."
